Is there really a superfruit or All-fruit?
Thanks for the question and hope all is well. If you are asking is there is one “superfruit” that makes all other fruit comparatively irrelevant because of its properties and effects in the body I say no.
That being said, there is a group of fruits that are called superfruits. Although it seems that the actual definition may vary, there are certain properties that are associated with all of them that are greatly above other fruit like nutrient density, antioxidant level, and overall health benefits. In this list you will always see fruit like:
•Acai berries (pronounced a-sigh-EE)
(all of which are not available as fresh fruit in the U.S.)
•Black Cherries and
There are quite a few more that are considered superfruits but I will just give two quick points that stand out from my studies. One, the term superfruit is not scientific, it is about marketing. So be careful about getting caught up with it. Two, there is power in the pigment. Rich, deep-color fruit juices seem to always denote great antioxidant content and health benefits. I guess they were right when they said “the blacker the berry…” Just kidding.
