I have heard it taught several times about how shepherds beat wayward sheep with the rod and other torturous techniques to make them conform. While some shepherds may observe these type practices, this is not the “comfort” referred to in the context of this psalm. This comfort comes from the assurance of a having a well-armed shepherd and confidence to rest in his ability to protect and guide.
Father, I realize that Satan specializes in threats; threats against my family, my finances, my character and even my body. But the Lord Yahshua (Jesus) disarmed and stripped him of ALL power at the cross and made him an open spectacle. So his best threats are only shadows and like barking dogs with no teeth. Fear is far from me and I walk in the spirit of love, power and soundness of mind to bring full deliverance and healings to pass that Your victory has already provided in Yahshua (Jesus) I pray.
Satan, you are a liar and your reports lie against the truth. I resist you by the word of God and refuse to buy into fear. By the authority given to me as a child of the Most High, I command you to get to steppin’ and take your weapons with you.
